Trimm with Claude or ChatGPT
Set up Trimm in Claude or ChatGPT, no commands needed
Trimm takes some of the thinking out of everyday life, for you and the people close to you. Add it to your assistant once, sign in, then paste one message. It checks what you have set up and asks a few simple questions, one at a time.
Claude

Add Trimm to Claude
On claude.ai or in the Claude desktop app, open Settings, then Connectors, and choose Add custom connector. Name it Trimm and paste this address.
https://api.trimm.uk/mcpOn a phone, add it once on claude.ai in your browser. It then shows up in the Claude app too. If you use Claude through work, your admin may need to add it.

We suggest a Claude project just for Trimm, so it keeps its own memory, apart from your other chats. Start a chat there, switch every connector except Trimm off in the chat's + menu, then paste this and send it.
Say "skip" to anything you don't want. You can ask for the rest later. Claude will also offer to check Trimm for work every few hours; scheduled tasks need a paid Claude plan, and you confirm the schedule yourself.
ChatGPT
Custom connectors need a paid ChatGPT plan and its developer mode, which OpenAI calls a beta. On Plus and Pro, ChatGPT may only be able to look things up in Trimm, not log or change anything. Full access needs a Business, Enterprise or Edu workspace, where an admin turns developer mode on first. OpenAI moves these menus from time to time, so the names may differ a little.

Add Trimm to ChatGPT

ChatGPT will also offer a recurring task to check Trimm for work, at most once a day on the Free plan. Trimm works on chatgpt.com, not in the ChatGPT phone app.
You stay in control
Your assistant acts only for you. The setup message asks it to:
- keep Trimm in a project or chat of its own, with memory and other connectors off, and never carry Trimm data into other chats or tools;
- check Trimm for work every few hours, if your assistant can schedule that, and say so plainly if it can't;
- report its usage honestly each time it works.
Trimm can't see or change your assistant's settings, so those depend on the assistant following them. What Trimm enforces itself, whatever the assistant does:
- only the areas you allow, which you can narrow area by area;
- limits on calls (30 a minute and 1,000 a day to start) and on how much one answer may hold (50 items or 64 KB to start), counted by Trimm, not by the assistant;
- access that ends after 90 days unless you choose 30 days or never.
Change any of these, see what each assistant used today, or disconnect it, in the Trimm iPhone app under You, then Integrations. You can also remove Trimm in Claude's or ChatGPT's settings. Apple Health is connected in the Trimm iPhone app, never through an assistant.
